¡®Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.¡¯: 2025 Venice Biennale
The theme of the 2025 Venice Biennale, which is being held from the 10th of May to the 23th of Novemver, is ¡®Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.¡¯ Curator Carlo Ratti stated that, in facing the environmental crises of today such as rising temperatures and declining populations, architecture must ¡®adapt¡¯ to these challenges, and called for new solutions to be found through natural, artificial, and collective intelligence. He also circulated a separate theme for the national pavilions, ¡®One Place, One Solution¡¯, and encouraged each national pavilion to contribute to the developing critical discourse on our global environment instead of simply addressing the issue from its own country¡¯s perspective. In response, the Korean Pavilion presented ¡®Little Toad Little Toad: Unbuilding Pavilion¡¯. The curator of CAC reflects on the past and envisages a new future for the architecture of the Korean Pavilion as it celebrates its 30th anniversary, instinctively touching on keywords such as architecture and legacy, nature and future. This SPACE issue includes reviews of the Korean Pavilion, the national pavilions, and the main exhibition, as well as commentaries from domestic and international figures from across the architectural communities. These accompanying articles provide a comprehensive, three-dimensional survey of this year¡¯s Venice Biennale.
