Kim Bokyoung (Kim): This project is the renovation of the Mladinska Knjiga Printing House which was designed by the Slovenian modernist architect Savin Sever (1927 – 2003) in the 1960s. 

Špela Videčnik (Videčnik): The modernist roots of architecture in Slovenia are very profound. Savin Sever was a student of Edvard Ravnikar (1907 – 1993). Ravnikar was a key figure during this period in Slovenian architecture. He studied and collaborated with Le Corbusier and was also deeply influenced by him during his time at Le Corbusier¡¯s studio. Ravnikar developed his own architectural poetics, both drawing on tradition and advancing its themes with a modernist approach that became the mark of Slovenia¡¯s post-war generation of architects. Sever is one of the most prominent representatives of this so-called Ljubljana School of architecture. Luckily for them, the socialist government at that time supported their architectural style. Therefore, Ravnikar and his students could command key tasks in the post-war reconstruction of socialist Slovenia and Yugoslavia. Sever designed several factories and industrial building...

Špela Videčnik
Špela Videčnik graduated from University of Ljubljana¡¯s Faculty of Architecture in 1997 and received her master¡¯s degree at AA School in London three years later. Videčnik established OFIS arhitekti with Rok Oman in 1998. Videčnik and Oman have won more than 30 national and international architectural awards and have taught architecture in numerous world-renowned architectural schools such as Harvard Graduate School of Design and conferences. As some of their representative works, OFIS arhitekti designed the Ljubljana City Museum Renovation (2003), Honeycomb Apartments (2005), Football Stadium Maribor (2008), Farewell Chapel (2009), Space Habitable Wheel (2011), Paris Student Housing-Basket Apartments (2013), Winter Cabin on Mountain Kanin (2016), and Conservatory for Music & Ballet (2019).
