JMY architects is based in Busan, influenced by the advice of a mentor while studying in France, who said, ‘A true architect has to succeed in one’s hometown.’ It was also established believing in the city’s potential for development, marketability, and the potential of the downtown area. Although rooted in the local context, JMY architects gradually expanded its activities nationwide, fostering exchanges with architectural circles in the capital region and subsequently increasing interactions with the local community. Through such endeavours, JMY architects began to be recognised as a local architect. The balance between efficiency, comfort, and fun are pursued in the office spaces outlined in the plan. It is located on the second floor of the community facility, where their workspace comprises 13 multi-functional areas within four main spatial zones, designed with a circulatory system in mind. The central focus lies not on office-centric spaces but on an entertainment area with a bar, encouraging comfortable conversations and diverse activities by considering various seating positions. While featuring a hierarchical spatial arrangement, boundaries between spaces are treated openly and flexibly, offering a visually refreshing and profound sense of space.
