Saint-Gobain, a building materials company with a 360-year history, unveiled its new strategic plan, Lead & Grow, earlier this year. Under their overarching mission, ¡®Making the World a Better Home¡¯, the plan outlines the company¡¯s vision to strengthen its status as a global leader in lightweight and sustainable construction. This strategic plan not only builds upon Saint-Gobain¡¯s achievements over the years, but also aligns with the company¡¯s long-term goal of responding to ongoing shifts in the construction industry.

Beyond merely supplying building materials, Saint-Gobain aims to position itself as an integrated solutions provider, delivering both performance and sustainability across new construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects. The solutions currently offered by Saint-Gobain are organised into four areas: exterior systems, interior systems, construction chemicals, and related professional services. For example, Isover, TekBond, GCP, Fosroc, and Vetrotech offer exterior solutions such as roofing, façade systems, and high-performance glazing. Meanwhile, Isover, Gyproc, and Ecophon provide interior products, including cement boards, insulation materials, and acoustic ceiling systems. In addition, construction chemical solutions, such as waterproofing systems, adhesives, and concrete admixtures, are supplied through GCP, Fosroc, and Chryso. These offerings are further complemented by professional services, including technical consulting and digital support, to support successful project delivery.

Saint-Gobain¡¯s ambitions extend beyond the residential sector into non-residential markets such as data centres, healthcare facilities, and educational buildings, as well as infrastructure projects including airports, bridges, and tunnels. The company currently generates approximately 26 trillion KRW in revenue from its non-residential and infrastructure businesses, while the potential market for these sectors is estimated at around 450 trillion KRW.

The construction industry is undergoing profound structural shifts driven by carbon-neutrality policies, the expansion of green building certification systems, growing demand for renovation, and reinforced regulations on safety and non-combustible materials. These trends align closely with Saint-Gobain¡¯s strategic direction, which has focused on advancing non-combustible materials, energy-efficient solutions, and low-carbon building systems. Against this backdrop, the company aims to sustain its growth in lightweight and sustainable construction through an integrated solutions approach.
