On June 3, the design by AEA_atelier espace architectes (co-principals, Kim Saesbyeol, Yun Sungyoung) was selected as the winning entry for the ‘Invited Design Competition for the Hadong World Tea Experience Centre Development Project’. Part of the ‘Hadong World Tea Expo Garden Development Project’ supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to meet local needs, the World Tea Experience Centre is a multi-experience space where people can experience the tea culture of different countries. The winning entry arranged a long rectilinear form structure along the east-west axis, creating a sequence that draws the attention of visitors leaving the experience centre after tea tasting to the summit of Chotdaebong peak. The clarity in expression of the massing also received a high score. Construction is expected to begin in July 2025 and it is planned for completion in Mar. 2026.
