On Dec. 14, Hwaseong City announced the Design Competition results for the construction project of the Bongdam Wau-ri Multicultural Library. The entry by the bold architects (co-principals, Shin Sungjin, Son Kyoungmin) was the final selection by the jury. The winning work was praised as persuasive in its efforts to create an external space by actively drawing on the height difference between the front road and the park and constructing the space considering various users such as young adults, residents, and children. The Bongdam Wau-ri Multicultural Library will be built as a cultural complex. In addition, a public library and a youth culture centre will be built together in Haeoreum Park in Bongdam-eup, with a total project cost of 12 billion won.
