On Nov. 12, Yangju City announced the winner of its Yangju City Children’s Cultural Center Design Competition. The winning design of this competition is architects office THE SAAI LLC (principal, Lee Jinoh). This design was reviewed positively not only for its playground-centred planning of its exterior space and its connection to the community centre complex but also for its efficient use of the site condition in its parking lot positioning and design. With the public indoor playground as its main focus, the children’s cultural centre also plans to hold programmes such as a cultural lecture hall and a cafeteria. The Yangju City Children Cultural Center is expected to receive a total project fund investment of 6.4 million KRW and it will be constructed as a building of 1,500m2 in scale in Samsoong-dong.
