Announcement of Winner of the National Fire History Museum Design Competition

The National Fire Agency announced the National Fire History Museum design competition results on Oct. 12. This design competition was conducted under the main aim of systematically preserving and managing historic heritage of fire agencies in Korea and expanding a safety culture. The location of National Fire History Museum is at Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do with a building scale of two aboveground floors and one basement floor. The winning designer is LEEM Architects (principal, Yang Jaeseok). The selected design was praised for displaying high level of understanding of the aim and motive behind National Fire Agency¡¯s establishment while proposing a practical design that utilizes exterior space that suits the original inclination and site condition. The construction of National Fire History Museum will begin from Oct. 2022 and is expected to open doors by July 2024.
