On Oct. 6, Hongseong-gun announced the design competition results for its new office. This design competition was conducted as an active response towards sustainable growth in Okam-ri, Hongseong-gun and relevant changes in the administrative function. The selected proposal was co-designed by D&B architecture design group (principal, Cho Doyeun) and Haema Architects & Planners co., ltd. (principal, Jeon Gwonsik). The design was highly praised for proposing a design with a façade panel that resembles the masonry work of Hongjuupseong Fortress Wall. The review committee evaluated it positively for “showcasing space in various ways by boldly positioning an indoor-outdoor inclined space and providing a novel future-oriented space.” Hongseong-gun is aiming to begin construction next year and finish construction by 2024.
