‘BVLGARI COLORS’, which is one show at the Hangaram Design Museum and Seoul Arts Center, is an exhibition in which you can observe Bvlgari’s passion for colour and the spirit of experimentation. This exhibition, which was held in Korea as its international debut, showcases representative colourful works from the early 1930s to the present. A total of 190 pieces, including the private collection along with the Bvlgari Heritage Collection, have been released, and you can also meet interesting storytelling related to each piece through the audio guide. In particular, in this exhibition, seven domestic artists (Kim Jongwon, Noh Sangkyoon, Lee Seahyun, Yee Sookyung, Choi Jeonghwa, Vakki) participated and presented works that match the various colours of Bvlgari, enriching the theme of the exhibition more abundantly.
The exhibition is divided into four sections according to four colour themes (red, blue, green, multi- colour). Bvlgari’s representative jewellery, made with gemstones representing each colour (ruby, sapphire, turquoise, emerald, etc.), catches the eye with delicate details, colourful hues and unique designs. The work that marks the beginning of the exhibition is Sautoir, which appears in the poster. A circular emerald is set in an octagonal frame set with rubies and diamonds. The cabochon cut, which represents Bvlgari, is not applied often to expensive gemstones because of the burden of cutting a large part of the rough stone with a circular crafting method. The audience can see various cabochon-cut gemstones boldly carved for aesthetic perfection, which will highlight Bvlgari’s values, regarding jewellery as an artform. There are many themed spaces in the hall that seem to have transplanted directly from Rome, allowing the audience to experience the sense of a brand origin that is rooted in Rome. The audience can enjoy unusual experiences in a photo zone that was created using Augmented Reality, and a massive screen that shows various images per colour profile. The exhibition ends on Sep. 15.
