The reasons behind the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism taking measures to withdraw the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture’s purchase of the SPACE Group of Korea Building were as follows: part of the Foundation’s underlying assets were used as funds for the purchase; the normal budgeting process was not followed; the price of the purchase was high at 9 billion KRW. First, we would like to make a request of the public. We propose the SPACE Group of Korea Building should be returned to the community and used as an architectural museum. […] Second, we would like to make a request of the Cultural Heritage Administration. In order to protect and ensure modern and contemporary heritage status, it has become necessary to prioritise the review to register it as a cultural heritage site.
